Jodie Foster began acting in television commercials at age three, appearing in more than 50 ads by age five. By the early 1970s she had moved into series television, including parts on shows like The Courtship of Eddie's Father and My Three Sons. Her first notable film appearances came in the early 1970s with parts in movies such as Napoleon and Samantha and The Little Princess.
